Shalaya Morissette is a Senior Technical Inspector within the Gas Pipeline Safety group for National Grid USA. Prior to joining National Grid she held various roles in higher education including Enrollment Services Project Manager and in global transportation as the Director of Affiliate Relations. As the Chapter President, her goal is to help facilitate positive relationships between the chapter and groups that would otherwise never connect, continue to develop active engagements and encourage young people to become involved in the energy industry. Shalaya received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and her Master's in Education from Cambridge College. As a life time learner she is continuing her education by pursuing an additional bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology with Excelsior College.
Chapter Vice President
Gideon Boakye-Ansah is a Senior Telecom Engineer for National Grid USA, a multinational electricity and gas utility company. Gideon supports the engineering, design, planning, and implementation of radio, microwave, fiber optics and IP networks and systems to meet internal and external customers’ needs. Prior to his current role, he worked as Senior Wireless Engineer for Huawei Technologies, where he led a group of engineers to design, install and commission over 1000 base stations (cells phone sites) for multiple cellphone carrier companies. Over the last 8 years of his career, Gideon held numerous roles for various companies which include field engineer, Network Engineer, and Network Capacity Planning engineer.
Laila Beavogui-Koma is a Lead Engineer and Executive Advisor to the VP of the Control Center Operations at National Grid USA. In her current role, she monitors and evaluates Key Performance Indicators, prepares reports and advises the VP.She also engages business streams to drive improvements in efficiency and productivity. Prior to this role, she held various roles as a Performance/Process Excellence champion, as well as a distribution and substation Engineer. Laila received her BSc. in Electrical Engineering from Binghamton University and her MSc. in Power Systems Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Gregory Bruton is an electrical engineer with project management experience, adept at configuring multi-faceted systems and delivering product quality through expert testing techniques. Accustomed to working in fast-paced environments and making significant contributions of technical expertise to team efforts.
Greg specializes in project team supervision, research and development, quality assurance, operations development, design engineering, project management and construction management. Advancements in his chosen career are attributed to an intense desire to succeed, coupled with an ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments. He also have a passion for empowering youth towards their future endeavors.
